Product overview
There are several physical tests that are performed on the Texture Analyser that assess the force to deliver or express a portion or continuous stream of sample from a vessel or product packaging. This force is measured to ascertain, for example, the ease/difficulty that a consumer might experience when using a product or it might be used to assess how a product’s packaging performs or the delivery mechanism fatigues/fails.
The Dynamic Integrated Balance is connected to the Texture Analyser to allow the simultaneous collection of the weight of sample delivery whilst the force is being measured. Soap dispensers, toothpaste tubes, metered dose inhalers and the imitative test of forcing semi-solid material through an orifice such as occurs during condiment, sauce or cream delivery or when using syringes are typical examples. This type of measurement will assist in the understanding of whether the correct amount of sample is adequate for a single actuation as a result of the effort exerted or whether the delivery of a continuous sample is uniform or not.

Advantages of this system
An additional stream of data collected at 500 points per second during standard testing
View the quantity and rate at which a sample is deposited on a second Y axis.
Overload protection of the 100g capacity.
How the Dynamic Integrated Balance works
The chosen physical test is setup up to measure force, distance and time as usual. A Product Catchment Drawer is located where the sample will deposit as a result of the test but is situated with the Dynamic Integrated Balance under it. The catchment drawer is tared on the balance at the start of the test.
During the test the force is displayed on the Y axis whilst the weight is displayed on the second Y axis as an additional data stream, either as a cumulative value or tared between repeated tests. This option allows measurement of individual sample deposits for repeated testing or the assessment of sample delivery rate and uniformity of a continuous test.
Note: Weight measurement can be shown as cumulative or tared between tests.
