Controlled Flow* technology enables the sample to be physically displaced in many different ways. The Test Settings of blade path angle and blade tip speed determine the mode of Controlled Flow* achieved within the sample column. Once programmed, the Test Settings can be exactly repeated test after test.
The Test Settings can be optimised to show the maximum differentiation between similar products, or to be complementary to the process or in use handling conditions, experienced by the product.
Data Collection Rate
This is the speed at which data is collected during the test. Data can be captured up to 500 points per second (PPS). The ability to plug-in peripheral instruments is present in the instrument design to provide multi-channel data acquisition. This allows for many other measuring devices to be used in conjuction with the Powder Flow Analyser and their data simultaneously collected, such as acoustic emission, temperature, humidity.
Cycles can be performed with or without the collection of data.
Typical Analysis
Almost any feature of a data characteristic can be recognised and recorded:- peaks, intermediate threshold peaks, gradients, elapsed time and distance events, smooth and jagged line comparisons, and many other features. Analytical macros can therefore be written to suit a particular test event, or a special characteristic of the samples.
Generally for a particular powder the Force work done Down (Compaction Friction) and Up (Aeration Cohesion) provide excellent, repeatable measurements. For these to be made as direct comparisons then the starting height (or volume) of the samples within the test vessels must be the same after initial conditioning by the Powder Flow Analyser.
Test Settings and analysis Macro routines can be optimised to suit your particular applications and if routinely required they can then be saved as user-specific Projects.
Alternatively it is very easy for the user to write their own method for the particular analysis required.
Macros
A Macro simplifies repetitive analysis and display. A set of instructions are listed and executed which automatically collect data from the graph. Tests can be automated with either simple or intricate macros which is ideally suited to a production environment.
Tabbed windows for groups of commands provides simplified listings.
Exporting Data
Spreadsheets, text or images can be exported to other Windows applications for further specific manipulation/presentation.
Presentation of Results
Using Exponent software results can be presented in a number of formats:
Graphs
The Graph window displays the real-time data acquired during the test. Tabbed graph windows for easy access to all relevant archive file information are present. Graphs can also be exported as .bmp or .jpg
Long file names provide the ability to insert more detailed information which is useful when locating the test file for future viewing.
Spreadsheets
The Results window tabululates results in customised spreadsheet format. Rows and columns can be added to manipulate data using either your own or stored formulae e.g. Standard Deviation, Average. Multiple worksheets are available to separate parameters from results.
Charts
A chart gives a visual representation of the data from the Results window. Select from 27 chart types (2D and 3D) and define rotation, position, 3D lighting properties, legend styles, base and wall styles, and axes types (stacked, normal and %).
Reports
A Report is a user formatted presentation of the complete analysis incorporating Graph, Results, Chart windows, plus other data and graphics. A WYSIWYG word processor type interface is incorporated with adjustable fonts and styles, Spell checker and Thesaurus. Objects (graphs, pictures, logos, etc.) can be inserted as a character or floating with selectable word wrap options. Test parameters are inserted as fields.
Language Editor
One software version has all language options. Choose the language you prefer at the USER window.
