TA.XTplus Texture Analyser

All of the texture analyser range can be used for testing the products listed below. A selection of special attachments and typical measurements are also shown which are commonly used in this application area.  However, this does not show the complete range of attachments available for the testing of pharmaceutical packaging products.  Test procedures include: compression, puncture/penetration, tension, fracture/bending, extrusion, cutting/shearing.

TA.HDplus Texture Analyser

Tensile Grips  Used for the assessment of Seal Strength (an important characteristic of packaging to ensure sterile integrity)	Typical measurements include: Seal Strength: sterile packaging for surgical instruments Friction Peel Strength: sanitary towels, nappies Puncture: blood bags Blister pack extraction force Blister packaging compaction Sachet Content removal force	Self-tightening Roller Grips  Can be used to measure tensile strength of packaging where slippage at the grip face may be a problem

Blister Pack This simple imitative test, which can be quickly performed on a complete strip of tablets, enables the average extraction force as well as the maximum and minimum extraction forces to be determined. Other tests on the blister pack can include the compression characteristics of individual blisters.		Universal Peel Strength Rig Allows measurement of the peel strength of sample containers up to 95mm diameter and 120mm height at three angles
Film Support Rig This rig allows testing of thin, film-like products to measure the burst strength, resilience and relaxation properties		Tube/Sachet Extrusion Rig allows manufacturers to measure the ease of removal and application of products such as sauces, pastes, creams and gels

Application Studies are available for the testing of PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING  products using either the TA.XT2i, TA.XTplus or TA.HDplus texture analysers.
